Multnomah County Sheriff's Office (MCSO)

MCSO provides public access to inmate data and release information on its website. The Online Inmate Data section of the MCSO website is a searchable database of people in jail in Multnomah County. The Domestic Violence Victim Notification section of the MCSO website is an online form for victims of domestic violence to register to be notified before the offender is released from jail.

National Victim Notification Network (VINE)

VINE is a free resource that provides searchable information regarding the current custody status of an offender. Crime victims and concerned citizens may register to be notified automatically when an offender is released, transferred, escapes, dies, or has a change in parole or probation status.

Oregon Offender Search (OOS)

OOS is a public web site that provides access to information on offenders currently in the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections. OOS displays public information about offenders and includes offenses associated with their current incarceration. It is not a history of all of the offenses for which the offender has been charged, sentenced, or incarcerated.

Release

The Multnomah County Sheriff determines custody status using guidelines that are provided by state law. ORS 135.230 to 135.290. Jail inmates may be eligible for various supervised programs that may allow release prior to a trial. ORS 135.260. In addition, most criminal defendants are eligible to pay a security deposit in an amount set by the court that allows for release. ORS 135.265.
