The Juvenile Unit is responsible for representing the state in cases arising in the Multnomah County Juvenile Court. The Juvenile Unit is staffed by deputy district attorneys, investigators, office assistants, and victim advocates. In delinquency cases, the role of the deputy district attorney in Oregon’s juvenile justice system is to advocate for those interventions that appear most likely to change the youth’s behavior in a positive way, based upon information about best practices, data, available resources, and the youth’s history.
