DA Mike Schmidt called the public defense crisis, defined by a lack of public defenders to provide counsel to defendants, an urgent threat to public safety.

A Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge sentenced Michael Lee Dizer, 65, to 10 years in prison on four charges including two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, and Theft in the First Degree.

The charges stem from multiple incidents during the month of September 2021.

The data set includes cases dismissed by the court as a result of the crisis.
