Christopher Fox Sentenced to 90 Months in Prison for 2021 Assault

August 16, 2023

Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced today that a Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge sentenced Christopher Robin Fox, 39, to 90 months in prison for a 2021 assault in Southeast Portland.

On October 7, 2021, Portland Police responded to 10605 SE Foster Road on reports of an assault. The victim was on a jog when she stopped to talk with a female friend who lived in a nearby houseless camp. While the two friends were talking, Christopher Fox approached with a crowbar, yelling at them. The victim asked Fox whether he was really going to use the crowbar, to which Fox responded by swinging at the victim, hitting her in the arm and causing an open, compound fracture. The victim was transported by paramedics to the hospital, underwent surgery the next day to install two plates in her arm and, to this day, is still physically impacted by the assault.

Deputy District Attorney Sam Wilton represented the state at trial, which took place in front of Judge Kelly Skye from August 7-9. The 12-person jury delivered a verdict on August 9, finding Fox guilty of:

  • One count of Assault in the First Degree
  • One count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Judge Skye imposed the 90-month prison sentence Monday. Fox is currently in custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections where he will serve his sentence.

The DA’s Office thanks the Portland Police officers and detectives who assisted with this case.
