Crime victims must contact the police to report a crime before contacting the DA’s Office.
MCDA relies on law enforcement to respond, investigate, gather evidence, and refer criminal charges when a crime is alleged. Deputy District Attorneys review information provided by law enforcement and determine whether a case can be prosecuted.
