DA Mike Schmidt files murder charge following weekend homicide in downtown
PORTLAND, Ore. – Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced that Anthony Maurice Millner Jr. is being charged with one count of murder in the second degree for allegedly causing the death of Edward Thomas Grant.
On April 10, 2021 the Portland Police Bureau launched a death investigation at an apartment near the intersection of Northwest 2nd Avenue and West Burnside Street.
Law enforcement responded to the scene and detained Millner and later booked Millner Jr. into the Multnomah County Detention Center.
The probable cause affidavit in this case is sealed pursuant to a court order.
No additional information can be released by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office at this time.
A charging document is only an accusation of a crime. Millner Jr. is innocent unless and until proven guilty.
