Portland, OR- Leonard Lonell Edwards, 23-years-old, was sentenced to 10 years prison and three years post-prison supervision on October 9, 2026. He was convicted on September 10, 2026 of Manslaughter with a Firearm by a Multnomah County jury.

THE FACTS:
On August 20, 2021, around 9:45pm Portland Police were called to the 7-11 store on SE 92nd Avenue.
Witnesses reported an argument started between one female and two other females inside the store. It became a physical fight as they moved outside the store. The victim, Jonathan Polanco, had pulled two of the females off of his girlfriend when the defendant shot and killed him. Police identified the defendant, Leonard Edwards, 18 at the time, as the shooter.
