DA Mike Schmidt announces “Tiny” Toese, 25, arraigned on 11 charges from ‘Proud Boy’ event last year
PORTLAND, Oregon – Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced that Tusitala “Tiny” Toese, 25, has been indicted and arraigned on 11 charges stemming from a “Proud Boy” rally last year. Toese was extradited from Washington state the evening of Tuesday, March 22, 2022, where he had been held in custody on unrelated charges. Toese was arraigned this morning, Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Earlier this year, Toese’s co-defendant, Miles Furrow, 41, was indicted and arraigned on eight charges stemming from the same event.
Toese and Furrow attended a rally associated with the “Proud Boys” which took place in a K-Mart parking lot off of Northeast 122nd on August 22, 2021. Several incidents that both Toese and Furrow were involved in transpired as a result of the event. Based on this event and the past criminal convictions of Toese the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office has requested that the court hold Toese in custody without bail pending the disposition of these criminal charges. Toese and Furrow have been charged as co-defendants with the following:
Tusitala “Tiny” Toese:
Three counts of Assault in the Second Degree with a weapon
Two counts of Assault in the Third Degree
Two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Two counts of Riot
Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the first degree
Miles Furrow:
Three counts of Assault in the Second Degree with a weapon
Two counts of Assault in the Third Degree
One count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon
One count of Riot
A charging document is only an accusation of a crime. Toese and Furrow are innocent unless and until proven guilty.
